Northwest Territories
Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NTNP)
Introduction to NTNP
The Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NTNP) provides a pathway for prospective immigrants to obtain Canadian Permanent Residency, particularly in the northern region of Canada. The NTNP focuses on attracting skilled workers to meet the demand in key sectors such as mining, energy, construction, transportation, and tourism.
NTNP Programs
There are two main streams under the NTNP:
Northwest Territories Employer Driven Program

The Northwest Territories Employer Driven Program consists of three streams, including the Express Entry System for Skilled Workers. This stream targets Express Entry candidates eligible under the Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades, or Canadian Experience Class categories. Successful applicants must meet specific criteria, including having an Express Entry Profile Number and Job Seeker Validation Code issued by IRCC, as well as demonstrating a genuine intent to settle in the Northwest Territories.
The Skilled Worker Stream under this program allows the Northwest Territories Government to nominate skilled workers with job offers from local employers. Eligibility criteria include a minimum of six months of work experience in the same position within the Northwest Territories, a valid work permit, legal status to work in Canada, and the intention to permanently settle in the province.
