Canada has unveiled the Canada Immigration Levels Plan 2024-2026, following the announcement of a new strategy to revamp its immigration laws. Immigration Minister Marc Miller introduced the foundations of this reform plan, addressing existing flaws in the system.
The new policy, titled “An Immigration System for Canada’s Future,” comprises three primary objectives:
Enhancing the visitor experience to make Canada more welcoming.
Aligning immigration with labor market demands.
Developing a comprehensive and well-coordinated expansion strategy.
The Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) aims to provide customers with a more user-friendly and intuitive experience.
Additionally, the IRCC intends to synchronize Canada’s labor and skills strategy with immigration laws, creating a coordinated approach across all levels of government.
This ensures that Canada can adequately accommodate its growing immigrant population with infrastructure, housing, and healthcare.
